Hunting Areas

We mainly hunt in the Niassa Reserve but also offer safaris in the Zambezi Delta and on the Lake Cahorra Bassa.

Our main hunting area is called Coutada Marangira which is located close to the town of Marupa and south of block C . The hunting block is close to 988000 acres in size and consists mostly of pristine wilderness areas made up of Miombo woodlands with some open savannah areas  , seasonal wetlands and riverine forests along the many water courses, rivers and streams. The landscape is scattered with spectacular rock formations and mountains , many of them narrow gullies that extend up the smooth – sided rockfaces.

The magnificent scenery combined with the vastness of the area and abundance of game and pristine nature makes this without a doubt one of Africas last great wilderness areas.

Marangira is home to prolific wildlife , including elephant , leopard ,lion , hippo and crocodile . Here you will also find large numbers of Roosevelt Sable, Lichtenstein Hartebeest and Livingston Eland including three endemic species like Boehms Zebra , Johnsons Impala and the Niassa Wildebeest.

Niassa province is located in the far North Western region of Mocambique and it shares the 9 th largest freshwater lake of Malawi. It also borders Tanzania. It has and area of 47423 square miles and a population of just over 1 million  , which makes Niassa the most sparsely populated province in the country. Most of this province is untouched by development with abouta quater of the province being a national park. Lichinga is the capital of the Niassa province.  

SOUTH AFRICA / LIMPOPO

Chasseurs de Mocambique offers some of the best hunting in Limpopo province , South Africa.South Africa offers a hassle free hunting experience for the individual hunter or family groups that wants to experience a bit of luxury on their safari.

We only use concessions larger than 5000 ha each and keep our group numbers manageable to ensure we give the very best service at all times. With our focus on the big game hunting we offer elephant , white rhino, hippo , crocodile and buffalo with all plainsgame species as add ons. We currently use the Greater Balepeye Nature Reserve as one of our hunting areas . Out of this destination we can also offer photo safaris and day trips to the Kruger National Park.

Access to our hunting areas is possible via road transfer ( 4 to 6 hours ) or via air charter to the hunting areas. Commercial flights is also available to the closest airport to your hunting destination ( Polokwane or Hoedspruit ). Our 2 lodges offers high quality accomodation thats made up of thatched chalets with ensuite bathrooms , a lapa area, boma , dining area and bar. Each lodge offers 220 volt electricity , free wifi and daily laundry and room service.

Our flagship destination m Baobab Private Nature Reserve is situated in the Limpopo Valley in northern Limpopo and is 12000 ha in size . Here we cater for rifle and bow hunters , photographic safaris and we have 35 species on offer.

Our lodge are located on the banks of the Sand river and can host 16 guests at any time.

FREE STATE

In the Free State province we use a different hunting destination of 14000 ha in size to offer our guests a different type of fauna and flora . Here you will encounters species like springbuck , bontebok , black wildebeest , oryx , roan , sable and buffalo

MAURITIUS HUNTING

We offer limited hunting for RUSA deer and wild boars on the island of Mauritius . All huntingtakes place on private land and are guided by a local professional hunter. We do offer and supply rifles and ammo that is incl in the package price. When booking a hunting date on Mauritius  , the hunting grounds is exclusive for your booking . Our rates all incl local hunting licenses , field prep of trophies , lunch and beverages for the hunting day,  PH , transport during the hunting , 1 x gold medal RUSA deer of not more than 34 inches.

We offer all accomodation for your trip in a luxury hotel or in a private vila which will inclall meals and beverages , all airport transfers. We also offer a combination trip where you can combine a rusa deer hunt with some big game fishing in the same holiday. Best time to combine a hunting and fishing trip is October to mid December . Normal hunting season is June to November .

The RUSA deer on the island originates from JAVA and was introduced to the island when a trading ship got ship wrecked on the island during a storm and the sailors had to take refuse on the island. They carried some RUSA deer on the ship and over a period of 300 hundred years they multiplied and relocated all over the island.
